Dr Kirsten Connan

Treasurer

I am an obstetrician and gynaecologist with a specialist interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, pelvic pain, endometriosis, high-risk pregnancy, and medical education.

I have served on the AGES board from 2019 to 2023 and am now nominating for the Honorary Treasurer AGES board position.
Originally training at the Royal Women’s Hospital (Melbourne), before holding consultant positions at the Royal Women’s Hospital (Melbourne), Royal Darwin Hospital, and Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).

I have now lived in Hobart since 2014, where I established and remain the director of TasWomen, Tasmania’s first all-female multi-disciplinary women’s healthcare practice. I also hold a senior lecturer position at the University of Tasmania and am a VMO at both Hobart Private Hospital and the RHH.

Beyond clinical practice I have interests in regional healthcare, clinical teaching & medical administration, leadership training, organisational diversity, business excellence and creating a sustainable future for our specialty. In May 2025 I fulfil my dream to represent Australia playing Masters Hockey.
