Application for an AGES Accredited Training Site
The AGES Education Committee has developed a standard application for accreditation of a Training Unit. This application has been subject to extensive peer review and covers a wide variety of educational needs as well as surgical requirements and expectations for training. A minimum of two accredited supervisors per trainee will be required for a unit to be accredited. Please note – the Unit Director is also considered to be a Supervisor.
Once approved, the curriculum and assessment tools will be provided and undertaken within the Unit’s own infrastructure. The delivery of training will continue to be the responsibility of individual facilities, albeit within the guidelines that have been established by AGES. A training unit may be comprised of more than one hospital and/or training site.
Applications must be submitted by 1st May for units to be accredited in time to appoint a trainee for the following year.
Cost for the Application
A fee of $3,300.00 is payable prior to the review of your application. Please note this is non-refundable. Please email education@ages.com.au to obtain an invoice.
