AGES ASM 2020
The AGES ASM 2020 was our largest event to date with over 500 delegates!
The theme ‘Foundations and the Future’ encompassed two sub-themes. Firstly, our society solid foundations that were established by previous AGES Boards and its members but also its need to remain dynamic to remain of relevance to its Members so that best care for our patients is ensured. Secondly, the core topics are relevant to all gynaecological surgeons will always remain central to AGES’ role in ongoing education for its Members; in addition, new and advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques, as well as cutting-edge technologies was showcased so that our Members stay abreast of modern gynaecological endoscopic options for their patients.
We would like to thank our international keynote speakers who joined us for the meeting including Dr Chad Michener from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (USA), Professor Marc Possover of University of Aarhus (Denmark), University of Cologne (Germany) and director of The Possover International Medical Center AG (Zurich). We must also continue in thanking Dr Marie Fidela Paraiso, a Past-President of AAGL and head of the Center for Urogynaegology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery and Dr Jan Baekelandt for both his presentations at the conference and his facilitation of the vNOTES pre-conference workshop.
Along with this amazing international faculty, we also had an Australian faculty who further complemented this team, we thank you for your time devoted to our program.
The Live Surgery delved into ‘Neuropelveology Unravelled’ with the procedure performed by Prof Marc Possover, Dr Michael Wynn-Williams, Dr Danny Chou & Dr Emma Paterson.
The AGES Interactive Hubs provided delegates with the hands-on time with the Industry Partners equipment, in a more intimate workshop held at their exhibition stands. Members had the chance to pre-book and learn from the Industry Partners and their skilled faculty.
Our AGES Annual Black-Tie Gala Dinner, Awards & Charity Auction was a fantastic highlight with the art auction raising $29,750 for Women’s Community Shelters. Thank you to our bidders for their contribution and to Lucila Zentner (the successful winner of the AGES Art Prize 19/20) for the amazing artwork.
And last but not least, a final thank you to our Organising Committee, Local and International Faculty, our industry partner exhibitors, and of course the delegates who made the trip to Sydney to join us at the Hyatt Regency.
We look forward to seeing you all again at future AGES events.
