AGES Board 2025 - 2027

Dr Samantha Mooney
Sam currently works as a consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist across public and private sectors at the Mercy Hospital for Women, Genea Fertility, Epworth HealthCare and Warringal Hospital in Melbourne. She commences her first term on the AGES Board in 2025.
Sam grew up in northern Sydney, before gradually moving south throughout her medical student years, finally settling in Melbourne. She completed RANZCOG training in metropolitan and regional Victoria, and then completed a two-year AGES fellowship from 2018 to 2019. Sam has remained an active AGES member since her training, attending and contributing to many AGES meetings as an invited speaker and research presenter.
Sam is an active early career researcher and PhD candidate with interests in endometriosis, persistent pelvic pain, and infertility. In 2019 a research project for which Sam is the Principal Investigator was included in a suite of projects awarded a large Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF, Aus) Grant – End-IT Endometriosis: Diagnosis, Innovation and Treatment. Sam is the current supervisor of candidates undertaking the PTP (previously DRANZCOG) and CWH awards at Mercy Hospital for Women, and balances her clinical, research and supervisory roles with her “home job” as a mum to two young children.
Sam is driven to improve the systems that support both patients and their healthcare providers. Sam plays an active role in improving gynaecological training and believes this needs to involve both policy and evidence-based surgical education.
