Nyasha is a Gynaecologist and Advanced laparoscopic surgeon based in Melbourne. With a strong passion for women's health, she has been a dedicated board member since 2022. Her educational journey began with medical school at Sydney University, followed by a master’s in international public health, specializing in Women's Health. She then relocated to Melbourne to complete her Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at Monash Health.

After finishing her training, Nyasha completed her AGES fellowship through Monash Health. During this time she was the Training Representative on the AGES board where she ran training workshops for the fellows. She now serves as a Consultant Gynaecologist in the Endosurgery Unit, where she also manages the Surgical Planning Portfolio. With a commitment to surgical excellence and patient-centred care, Nyasha strives to create an environment in which her patients feel both safe and empowered in managing their gynaecological health.

She enjoys mentoring and teaching the next generation of medical professionals, including fellows and registrars in her unit. Nyasha dedicates time to share her expertise and knowledge, fostering an environment of learning and growth for those she works with. Her commitment to teaching helps to ensure that emerging professionals are well-equipped with the skills and understanding needed to provide high-quality care to their patients.

In addition to her work with trainees, Dr. Gwata is dedicated to educating her patients. She actively uses her social media platform, @drnyashagwata on Instagram, to share valuable information about women’s health, surgical procedures, and overall well-being.
