Dr Keryn Harlow is a specialist gynaecologist and fertility specialist in Christchurch and joins the board for the first time in 2025.

Keryn completed her medical training and obstetrics and gynaecology training in Christchurch before moving to Melbourne to complete a 2-year AGES fellowship at the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Mercy Hospital for Women. She relocated home with her family in 2022 to take up a position at Christchurch Women’s Hospital as well as establishing her practice at Femina Health and Fertility Associates. Since her return Keryn has established the complex endometriosis service, alongside the colorectal surgery department, and takes referrals from throughout the South Island. She is actively involved in teaching and training as a RANZCOG training supervisor, and mentor in a novel cross-specialty lap skills training programme established in 2025.

Alongside her clinical practice, Keryn has strong research interests in endometriosis and fertility. During her fellowship she was a founding member of the Endometriosis: Diagnosis, Innovation and Treatment group, receiving a significant MRFF grant. She is the principal investigator for a large multicenter longitudinal study as part of this group and is now undertaking a PhD with the University of Melbourne. She actively supports and supervises trainees undertaking research and continues to grow a research culture in her local hospital.

Keryn has a passion for advocacy and disseminating knowledge, she is regularly asked to present to patient groups and multidisciplinary teams and enjoys this aspect of her work. She can be found at www.drkerynharlow.co.nz.
