Dr Amani Harris
Amani practices private obstetrics and gynaecology in Sydney at her rooms in Miranda, and consults at Sutherland, a teaching hospital for the University of New South Wales.
She attended medical school at the University of Sydney and undertook her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at Westmead hospital, including a one-year fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the SWAPS (Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery) Unit. She went on to complete a two-year AGES (Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery) fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Monash Health in Melbourne and obtained a Master of Advanced Gynaecological Surgery.
Amani’s primary surgical interests are minimally invasive reproductive surgery including endometriosis, fibroids and single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS). She has published numerous papers relating to endometriosis, considering its impacts on pain and infertility, as well as the molecular basis of fibroids and reduced endometrial receptivity.
