SUMMARY:AGES/AAGL Affiliated Society Focus Meeting 2023
DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues\, \n\n\n\nOn behalf of AGES and AAGL we would like to welcome you to Bangkok.  This is a landmark event for our society\, being our affiliated AAGL meeting.  We have forged a strong friendship with AAGL over the last few years and are excited to co-host this event.   We have chosen the theme of “The Modern Muse” to fit in with this location and interests of our speakers and audience. \n\n\n\nWe have chosen Bangkok for its location being accessible to Australia\, New Zealand\, America and Asia.  Bangkok is a vibrant city with huge diversity and culture. It offers the opportunity for safe post pandemic travel for our societies.  It’s a city known for its food\, people\, culture and shopping!! \n\n\n\nThe two-day program has been written with similar diversity to appeal to the generalist and advanced laparoscopists alike.  We will cover issues including transgender medicine\, modern surgical techniques and Imaging techniques.  Our speakers are a range of AAGL board members (Dr Andrew Sokol\, current AAGL president\, Dr Sony Singh\, Dr Shailesh Puntambekar and Prof Sven Becker) as well as some well-known AGES speakers.  We are also fortunate to have some fantastic local speakers bringing their expertise to the program.  We are sure they will inspire and educate all.  The program will be available on the conference website. \n\n\n\nThis will be the first meeting for the new AGES board.  We welcome you to join with us and make this meeting a memorable occasion for all. \n\n\n\nDr Rachel Green AGES President\, Conference Co-Chair On behalf of the Organising Committee

SUMMARY:AGES XXXII Annual Scientific Meeting 2022
DESCRIPTION:We look forward to the AGES Annual Scientific Meeting 2022\, as COVID-19 is being increasingly diminished from our day-to-day lives. This will be our time to reunite\, reconnect and re-establish the impetus within us to march onwards and upwards towards enriching gynaecological care for the women of Australasia. \n\n\n\nThe AGES 2022 ASM theme “Onwards and Upwards” is very apt in the current climate\, focusing on our determination and resilience to progress forward despite the complex challenges brought upon all of us over the last few years by COVID-19. AGES will continue to move onwards in the provision of ongoing education to our members on “core” surgical topics of relevance to trainees\, generalist consultants\, and advanced laparoscopists alike. As a dynamic society\, we move upwards as we push past the boundaries with presentations on new developments and advanced surgical themes to equip you with the motivation\, tools\, and skills to aim for an accelerated post-pandemic recovery. As always\, the AGES 2022 ASM will offer the best of live surgery\, core-learning sessions\, surgical videos\, and panel discussions presented by outstanding international and local guest speakers. \n\n\n\nWe cannot think of a better place to host the AGES 2022 ASM than Melbourne\, given the severe impact of COVID-19 on this proud city. Melbourne has withstood and conquered multiple COVID-19 outbreaks\, despite the profound challenges\, by harnessing the strength and courage within its own community. \n\n\n\nThe AGES board and local organising committee are delighted to invite you to the AGES 2022 ASM\, ‘Onwards and Upwards’. For so many reasons\, this will be an AGES ASM like no other!  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*Please note when adding this event to your calendar\, the event will populate with a generic time. It is vital that you check the current program available on the event website for the correct program timings before making travel arrangements. For any further information or assistance please contact the AGES Secretariat via email\, at ages@yrd.com.au or phone\, 07 3368 242

SUMMARY:AGES XXII Pelvic Floor Symposium 2022
DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues\, \n\n\n\nHow can we reflect on the two years that have gone by since the advent of our global pandemic? It’s been a time we would rather forget\, and yet it keeps rearing its ugly head and lashing its barbed tail again and again. Within Australia\, our colleagues on the east coast have borne the brunt of the pandemic\, however\, it is worth remembering that\, for the most part\, we have been fortunate to be in Australia. \n\n\n\nIt’s time to reflect on the things that bring us together\, and it’s in this spirit that we have launched the 2022 AGES Pelvic Floor meeting\, crossing our fingers that we will all be able to meet in person and share things face to face. We will be focussing our minds on inclusion\, healing\, and recovery in all its varying colours and shades. \n\n\n\nWe will be talking about mesh (again!) and the alternatives\, prolapse throughout the lifespan of a woman\, discussing pain and sexual function. All this and so much more. \n\n\n\nWith the change of timing to June 3rd and 4th\, we are in the process of finalising our international speakers and will get back to you as soon as possible with the confirmed list. Be assured that we will have some truly world-class speakers with relevance to the day-to-day practice of gynaecology. \n\n\n\nLook forward to catching up and learning something along the way. \n\n\n\nKind Regards\, \n\n\n\nEmma ReadmanChair & AGES Board Member \n\n\n\nFariba Behnia-Willison & George CondousScientific Co-Chairs & AGES Board Members \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n *Please note when adding this event to your calendar\, the event will populate with a generic time. SUMMARY:AGES XXXI Annual Scientific Meeting 2021 - Virtual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Leading the new Paradigm  \n\n\n\nRegistrations are now openVisit the event website to register to attend \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVirtual Meeting Announcement\, a message from AGES:\n\n\n\nOn behalf of Dr Stephen Lyons\, AGES President\, Dr Michael Wynn-Williams\, ASM21 Conference Chair and AGES Treasurer\, the ASM21 Organising Committee and the entire AGES Board\, we wish to advise that due to the ongoing lockdowns and travel restrictions across Australia and New Zealand\, the AGES XXXI Annual Scientific Meeting 2021 will\, unfortunately\, be held as a fully virtual meeting on 28th – 30th October 2021\, and the AGES XXII Pelvic Floor Symposium will not proceed in 2021. \n\n\n\nWith the uncertainty around travel\, quarantine and lockdowns\, there is no realistic way that AGES can facilitate a face-to-face element of either meeting at this time. While we are disappointed that we are not able to meet in person\, the AGES Board have agreed that this is the best option to move forward\, highlighting that the health and wellbeing of our members and delegates remain at the forefront of our minds. \n\n\n\nThe AGES Pelvic Floor Committee are currently working to confirm a webinar to be held in early December\, and further details will be made available in the coming months. \n\n\n\nAs always\, your ongoing support of AGES is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns\, please do not hesitate to contact a team member at ages@yrd.com.au \n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you online in October and look forward to meeting face-to-face for the 2022 Annual Scientific Meeting on 10th – 12th March 2022 at the Crown Promenade Melbourne. \n\n\n\nStay positive and test negative! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWelcome Letter\n\n\n\nCOVID-19 has changed much of the way of life that we had grown accustomed to. This will be an AGES ASM with a difference! We look forward to inviting members from all around the world to our first Virtual ASM. \n\n\n\nThe 2021 AGES ASM will offer the best of previous ASMs including live surgery\, panel discussions\, and international guest speakers from around the world. \n\n\n\nWe will also hear from acclaimed national speakers who specialize in leadership and adaptation including; ‘Change Agent’ Kirstin Ferguson and Resilience and leadership expert\, Heidi Dening.
