The United States has seen a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases\, therefore Jubilee can offer significant insight from her experience. Dr Brown will be addressing a number of issues including the safety of surgery\, most specifically MIS in COVID-19 cases.  \n\n\n\nThe second presenters include Dr Belinda Lowe\, Dr Rebecca Szabo and Prof Victoria Brazil\, simulation experts from Melbourne and the Gold Coast. Dr Belinda Lowe\, RANZCOG Fellow\, Dr Rebecca Szabo (speaker at the AGES ASM 2020)\, RANZCOG fellow and Prof Victoria Brazil (also a speaker at the AGES ASM 2020) is an ACEM fellow. All are simulation experts and they will run through a scenario of donning and doffing PPE and theatre preparedness for gynae emergencies with COVID-19 so we can best protect ourselves during surgery. \n\n\n\nOur last speaker of the evening is Julie O’Reilly from William Buck. Julie will walk you through the government assistance for practices during this time\, and help you understand the financial assistance policies that will keep you running. \n\n\n\nBelow are the details of the Webinar and how to register. SUMMARY:AGES Advanced Lap-Dissection Workshop - (POSTPONED) TBC*
DESCRIPTION:This course has been postponed with no date set at this time. We will be updating this page with any new information. \n\n\n\nThe Advanced Lap D Workshop is designed for Specialist Gynaecologists with advanced laparoscopic training who wish to: \n\n\n\nExpand their knowledge of pelvic\, abdominal and retroperitoneal anatomyHone their laparoscopic surgical dissection and teaching skills.\n\n\n\nThere will be a particular focus on identification of the pelvic nerves and nerve sparing surgical techniques. \n\n\n\nHands-on laparoscopic dissection sessions utilising fresh frozen\, female donors follow the relevant anatomical lecture series. \n\n\n\nThe\n workshops are held at the Medical Engineering and Research Facility \n(MERF)\, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) facility in Brisbane. \n\n\n\nThree\n participants are assigned to each donor and will be closely supervised \nby an experienced advanced laparoscopic surgical instructor. Each \nparticipant will have the opportunity to operate\, assist and observe to \noptimise the learning experience as they rotate evenly through each \nstep. \n\n\n\nThe course focuses on the approaches to dissection of the \npelvic sidewall with a particular emphasis on the surgical layers and \nsurgical spaces and the anatomical structures contained within them. \nRetroperitoneal spaces around the bladder\, pelvic floor\, large bowel and\n kidneys are all explored. There is a particular focus on identification\n of the pelvic nerves and nerve sparing surgical techniques. \n\n\n\nThe anatomy of the diaphragm and surgical approaches to resection of diaphragmatic endometriosis is covered. \n\n\n\nAll\n participants are provided with pre-reading and copies of the \npresentations a week prior to the workshop. Registrants are expected to \nconfidently increase their anatomical knowledge and awareness\, allowing \nfor improved surgical outcomes and reduced complications for their \npatients. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Please ensure that you check back here for the most up to date information regarding dates as we closely monitor the ongoing pandemic and its impact on the scheduling of AGES workshops and events.  \n\n\n\nPlease note when adding this event to your calendar\, the event will populate with a generic time.
