SUMMARY:AGES XXXI Annual Scientific Meeting 2021 - Virtual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Leading the new Paradigm  \n\n\n\nRegistrations are now openVisit the event website to register to attend \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVirtual Meeting Announcement\, a message from AGES:\n\n\n\nOn behalf of Dr Stephen Lyons\, AGES President\, Dr Michael Wynn-Williams\, ASM21 Conference Chair and AGES Treasurer\, the ASM21 Organising Committee and the entire AGES Board\, we wish to advise that due to the ongoing lockdowns and travel restrictions across Australia and New Zealand\, the AGES XXXI Annual Scientific Meeting 2021 will\, unfortunately\, be held as a fully virtual meeting on 28th – 30th October 2021\, and the AGES XXII Pelvic Floor Symposium will not proceed in 2021. \n\n\n\nWith the uncertainty around travel\, quarantine and lockdowns\, there is no realistic way that AGES can facilitate a face-to-face element of either meeting at this time. While we are disappointed that we are not able to meet in person\, the AGES Board have agreed that this is the best option to move forward\, highlighting that the health and wellbeing of our members and delegates remain at the forefront of our minds. \n\n\n\nThe AGES Pelvic Floor Committee are currently working to confirm a webinar to be held in early December\, and further details will be made available in the coming months. \n\n\n\nAs always\, your ongoing support of AGES is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns\, please do not hesitate to contact a team member at ages@yrd.com.au \n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you online in October and look forward to meeting face-to-face for the 2022 Annual Scientific Meeting on 10th – 12th March 2022 at the Crown Promenade Melbourne. \n\n\n\nStay positive and test negative! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWelcome Letter\n\n\n\nCOVID-19 has changed much of the way of life that we had grown accustomed to. The dramatic effects of the pandemic have created a stark definition between our pre and post COVID-19 existence.  A significant change has been thrust upon us suddenly and without warning and we have been forced to adapt professionally and socially. \n\n\n\nAlthough more change is sure to come\, we are delighted to invite you to the 2021 AGES ASM\, ‘Leading the new Paradigm’. This will be an AGES ASM with a difference! We look forward to inviting members from all around the world to our first Virtual ASM. \n\n\n\nThe 2021 AGES ASM will offer the best of previous ASMs including live surgery\, panel discussions\, and international guest speakers from around the world. \n\n\n\nWe will also hear from acclaimed national speakers who specialize in leadership and adaptation including; ‘Change Agent’ Kirstin Ferguson and Resilience and leadership expert\, Heidi Dening. Comedian and climate activist Craig Reucassel will close this meeting with what is sure to be a mixture of entertainment and enlightenment. \n\n\n\nOur new paradigm meeting will showcase members of the AGES community who are leading change within Australia and New Zealand on sustainability\, wellbeing and innovation. We will also debut a session solely dedicated to surgical videos submitted by AGES members and trainees. \n\n\n\nOur organising committee is excited to bring you this ASM program\, aiming to equip us all for ‘Leading the new Paradigm’. \n\n\n\nMichael Wynn-Williams – ASM Chair\, AGES DirectorKirsten Connan – Scientific Co-chair\, AGES DirectorHelen Green – Scientific Co-chair\, AGES Director \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtwork – Sally Ann Harrison AGES Art Prize winner – 2020/2021 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Please ensure that you check back here for the most up to date information regarding dates as we closely monitor the ongoing pandemic and its impact on the scheduling of AGES workshops and events. \n\n\n\nPlease note when adding this event to your calendar\, the event will populate with a generic time. SUMMARY:AGES XXII Pelvic Floor Symposium 2022
DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues\, \n\n\n\nHow can we reflect on the two years that have gone by since the advent of our global pandemic? It’s been a time we would rather forget\, and yet it keeps rearing its ugly head and lashing its barbed tail again and again. Within Australia\, our colleagues on the east coast have borne the brunt of the pandemic\, however\, it is worth remembering that\, for the most part\, we have been fortunate to be in Australia. \n\n\n\nIt’s time to reflect on the things that bring us together\, and it’s in this spirit that we have launched the 2022 AGES Pelvic Floor meeting\, crossing our fingers that we will all be able to meet in person and share things face to face. We will be focussing our minds on inclusion\, healing\, and recovery in all its varying colours and shades. \n\n\n\nWe will be talking about mesh (again!) and the alternatives\, prolapse throughout the lifespan of a woman\, discussing pain and sexual function. All this and so much more. \n\n\n\nWith the change of timing to June 3rd and 4th\, we are in the process of finalising our international speakers and will get back to you as soon as possible with the confirmed list. Be assured that we will have some truly world-class speakers with relevance to the day-to-day practice of gynaecology. \n\n\n\nLook forward to catching up and learning something along the way. \n\n\n\nKind Regards\, \n\n\n\nEmma ReadmanChair & AGES Board Member \n\n\n\nFariba Behnia-Willison & George CondousScientific Co-Chairs & AGES Board Members \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n *Please note when adding this event to your calendar\, the event will populate with a generic time. It is vital that you check the current program available on the event website for the correct program timings before making travel arrangements. SUMMARY:AGES Focus Meeting 2022
DESCRIPTION:Registrations for the Focus Meeting 2022 are now open! \n\n\n\nDear Colleagues\,I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us in beautiful Queenstown\, New Zealand\, for the AGES 2022 Focus Meeting.  Overseas travel has been a distant memory for many of us\, but with the opening of the NZ borders\, our Australian members can now travel abroad\, spread our wings and be educated.  We are looking forward to reconnecting with our New Zealand colleagues and sharing our combined knowledge.  Pack your passport and your winter woollies! The theme\, ‘Integration through Innovation’\, has allowed us to curate a program with wide appeal to our membership; the local organising committee believe there is something for everyone in there. We will take you on a journey through the future of women’s health with a plenary session involving leaders in this field and further cover topics including surgical innovation through technology\, midlife management\, evidence-based pregnancy care\, and the oncology biology.  We will also have a session from the STAG simulation team\, where players will pitch against each other to win a coveted title – all to be revealed later…. Our final session will be a series of puzzling cases and tales of the unexpected. So please join us for this exciting meeting….. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n *Please note when adding this event to your calendar\, the event will populate with a generic time.
