DESCRIPTION:This course is for members only. Please visit the members tab of the AGES website or click here to join or renew now \n\n\n\nThere was a course that was originally scheduled for the 4th of April\, that has now been rescheduled to the 29th of November. All those delegates registered to attend on the 4th of April have had their registrations transferred to the 29th of November. Delegates registered to attend the Dissection workshops on the 28th\, there has been NO CHANGE to your registration or schedule at this time.    \n\n\n\nWorkshop 1: Saturday 28th  November 2020**Workshop 2: Sunday 29th November 2020**MERF\, Brisbane – 0700 – 1730    \n\n\n\n**Workshops 1 & 2 are the same workshop\, you do not need to register for both! \n\n\n\nThis workshop is designed for gynaecologists with laparoscopic skills who wish to expand their knowledge of pelvic and abdominal retroperitoneal anatomy while advancing their laparoscopic surgical skills. \n\n\n\nHands-on laparoscopic cadaveric sessions utilising fresh frozen\, female cadavers follow the relevant anatomical ‘fast’ lecture series. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will be held at the Medical Engineering and Research Facility (MERF)\, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) facility in Brisbane. \n\n\n\nThree participants are assigned to each donor and will be closely supervised by an experienced advanced laparoscopic surgical instructor. Each participant will have the opportunity to operate\, assist and observe to optimise the learning experience as they rotate evenly through each step. \n\n\n\nThe course will focus on demonstration of the pelvic sidewall dissection with a particular focus on the surgical layers and surgical spaces with the anatomical structure contained within them. Retroperitoneal spaces around the bladder\, pelvic floor\, large bowel and kidneys will all be explored. \n\n\n\nThe registrants will have the opportunity to complete the anatomical dissection required to perform a Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy. There is a very limited number of 18 delegates able to participate. \n\n\n\nAll participants will be provided with pre-reading and copies of the presentations a week prior to the workshop. \n\n\n\nRegistrants are expected to confidently increase their anatomical knowledge and awareness\, allowing for improved surgical outcomes and reduced complications for their patients. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Please ensure that you check back here for the most up to date information regarding dates as we closely monitor the ongoing pandemic and its impact on the scheduling of AGES workshops and events.  \n\n\n\nPlease note when adding this event to your calendar\, the event will populate with a generic time.
